Job DescriptionOur pharmacy technicians provide superior customer service under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, performing non-discretionary tasks related to the preparation and distribution of prescription medication(s) in compliance with company policies and procedures, state and federal law, and state board of pharmacy regulations. Job ResponsibilitiesPharmacy technicians assist graduate interns, pharmacy interns, or pharmacists with the following (as authorized by state board of pharmacy regulations): Receive refill requests for prescriptions from patients and medical practitioners Record information in patient profiles Retrieve, count, or pour prescription medications provided a pharmacist verifies accuracy of the final product prior to dispensing the prescription medication to the patient Prepackage prescription medications under the supervision of a pharmacist in compliance with state board of pharmacy regulations Comply with all state board of pharmacy rules and licensing requirements Job RequirementsYou must be a high school graduate or equivalent, and have fulfilled any state board of pharmacy licensing requirements. Pharmacy Technician The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: Ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy department by assisting customers and operating the cash register. Accept customer and prescription information, including refill authorization, from doctors offices where permitted by state law. Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory where permitted by state law. Create prescription labels and put them on prescription containers where permitted by state law. Place medication into prescription containers where permitted by state law. Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by state law. Combine medication for dispensing to customers where permitted by state law. Input customer and prescription data into the computer system where permitted by law. Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions. Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.
