This position floats between the various clinics in our Tacoma Specialty Center. At this time, we have many work hours available.;SUMMARY:Responsible for patient flow in MD office: including electronic (EPIC) patient charting. Use computer to obtain and transmit information. Obtain pertinent history and vital signs. Give limited information/results to patients within scope of practice.Coordinate referrals to specialty clinics. Conduct basic call management/advice.Coordinate clerical functions. Prepare and stock exam and workrooms.Maintain instruments, equipment and supplies.Assist with procedures.QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of Accredited MA or EMT program.Recent ambulatory care experience preferred.Excellent customer service and communication skills. Basic computer skills.Ability to lift 50 lbs or as required by patient needs.CERTIFICATES/LICENSURE: Current MA or EMT certification or eligible for certification. Duties include: rooming patients, documenting patient medical records, under supervision of practitioner or nurse supervisor, administer approved medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intradermal routes, and according to clinic standards, prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment; keep patient exam rooms clean and orderly; anticipate practitioner’s needs for medications, supplies and equipment and plan accordingly. Requires: Previous MA experience, graduate of a certified medical assistant program, able to be certified at levels A, C, and E (WA Health Care Assistants must be at least certified at A, C, E and, CPR certification.
