Lab Assistant
This job is responsible for performing as a "lead" Lab Assistant in directing, obtaining and processing blood for test analysis. An incumbent performs much the same work as described in the Lab Assistant (job code 9260) job description, participating in the day-to-day operations of the work unit, with "lead" work comprising a relatively minor portion of the overall job. Phlebotomist
We are seeking a temp Phlebotomist to join our Lab Department. You will perform phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen processing and other lab tests and procedures in a manner that maintains high quality patient care. HOURS: FT - hours TBD; Monday-Friday RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Obtain blood specimens by skin puncture, venipuncture. 2. Perform electrocardiograms. 3. Accurately enter patient information and tests into the computer and accurately label specimens. 4. Deliver specimens to appropriate testing areas. 5. Work as a team member within the laboratory department, and with all other Polyclinic departments. 6. Set up hematology and culture specimens for testing. 7. Perform macroscopic and microscopic urinalysis. 8. Process specimens for in-house chemistry and send-out testing. 9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
