External Description: Providence St Peter Hospital. Definition: Performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose, IV and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt and accurate manner. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Sisters of Providence Mission and Philosophy. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Level A program certified by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy or equivalent experience. A course in medical terminology is preferred. Training and Experience: Experience should include at least three months of practical experience in a hospital pharmacy under the direction of a pharmacist. One to two years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred, but training in a retail pharmacy will be accepted. IV admixture experience preferred. Must have experience in dealing with phone triage and difficult situations. Registration: Requires current Washington State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration and licensure.
