We are seeking a talented and energetic bookkeeper/medical biller to join our growing family. Our ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, vivacious team player who is outgoing and friendly with our clients and staff. This is a part-time position, requiring 20-25 hours per week, but may grow to full time within 1 year. Job Responsibilities: 1. Full-charge bookkeeping responsibilities, including: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, bank deposits/reconciliations and financial reporting. 2. Reconcile cash box daily and prepare deposits for bank. 3. Submit claims to insurance companies for patient care charges. 4. Audit records and paper claim submissions, and reconcile patient accounts. Research any issues related to coding and billing of claims, as necessary. 5. Maintain organization and completeness of billing records, including filing documents according to medical record guidelines. Must maintain the confidentiality of all records. 6. Complete paperwork and fill out forms as directed by clinic practitioners. 7. Maintain understanding of insurance requirements, changes and updates as they relate to coding/billing. 8. Respond effectively and timely to all requests and inquiries from patients, clinic staff, insurance companies, etc. 9. Other projects, as assigned. Requirements: 1. 2-5 years’ experience in bookkeeping, involving responsibility for full-charge. 2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 3. Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills. 4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 5. Must have the ability to multi-task and work with regular interruptions. 6. Two plus years’ experience in physician office billing or the equivalent preferred. 7. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, including coding for physician billing, and experience with using a computerized medical billing system preferred. 8. Overall knowledge of claims processing procedures for insurance companies preferred. 9. Proficiency with QuickBooks Pro a definite plus.
