Job Responsibilities: • Pulls charts for scheduled appointments day before, assuring all charts are available before leaving office for the day. • Delivers, transports, sorts and files returned charts, assuring all charts are filed before leaving office for the day. • Assembles new patient charts and repairs damaged charts. • Purges patient chart filing system and packages for off-site storage. • Posts correspondence and test results to medical records in chronological order. • Processes incoming medical records requests in a timely manner observing required rules and regulations. • Maintains log of incoming medical records requests. • Distributes incoming fax information with appropriate patient charts and keeps fax machine stocked with paper. • Is responsible for stat requests for patient charts from physicians and nurses. • Places all transcription in patient charts. • Provides backup phone support • Performs other related work as assigned Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Requirements: • Knowledge of medical terminology • Typing speed of 50 wpm • Knowledge of computer, systems, and applications. a.
