We are a very upscale primary care medical practice that has an immediate need for a front office administrative assistant and transcriptionist. You are the all-important first contact for our patients and perform a variety administrative duties. This is a full time, M-F 8:30 – 5 PM position located on First Hill.
The job duties include:
- Working at the front desk area, handling phones, greeting patients.
- Transcribing dictated chart notes and letters. Prior medical transcription experience is ideal, good typing skills and solid knowledge of medical terminology is also satisfactory.
- Managing all aspects of the front office, including decoration, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, appearance, etc.
- Building relationships with patients, serving as their advocate.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Routine office duties (phones, filing, typing, etc).
- Serving as executive assistant for special projects.
- If you have the interest, there are also graphic design (print and web) projects which are available as well.
Features of our ideal candidate:
- Solid knowledge of medical terminology. Prior medical transcription training or experience is ideal.
- Extremely neat, clean, healthy, professional appearance.
- Highly accurate and very good attention to detail. Quick learner. Someone not prone to errors or mistakes. Able to work in a complicated medical environment.
- Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills. We have a clientele that requires the highest standards in service and attention.
- Very reliable and punctual.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good conversational ability appropriate for a high-end setting.
- Interested in stable, long-term employment
- Computer literate. Microsoft office.
- Adaptable, flexible, good at mastering new skills. Good multasker.
We are a small, quiet office. Significantly lower in volume than most medical settings, but with extremely high standards of customer service. You report directly to the owner/physician. The job is about 1/3 transcription, 1/3 phones and interacting with patients, 1/3 special projects, such as graphic design (if you are interested), inventory, maintaining the office, etc.
Starting salary is 36K plus paid vacation, health insurance, and transportation/parking allowance.
