Reporting to the Practice Manager you will be responsible for promoting and restoring patient health by assisting in the nursing process while supporting physicians and other multidisciplinary team members. General responsibilities include: • Rooming patients and performs routine patient data collection. • Performs phlebotomy and injections. • Completing charts through electronic medical records • Assists and chaperones physicians. • Assists in medical procedures. • Organizes, stocks and maintains an orderly work area, including exam rooms, surgical suites and all patient care areas • Adheres to all safety protocols, including but not limited to, infection control, universal precautions and use of personal protective equipment as needed for all patient-care procedures. An ideal candidate will have 1-3 years experience as an MA in Women’s Health and/or OBGYN. We have an outstanding opportunity for a part-time, Medical Assistant to join the team at UWMC Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery with the Primary Responsibility of supporting the Audiology Department. This individual will assist Audiology staff to provide care for patients seen in the Audiology clinic to include otoscopic examination, administering questionnaires, triaging phone messages, scheduling appointments and evaluating hearing instruments. This individual will also assist in the examination and treatment of ambulatory patients, including: preparing the patient and the environment for treatment, meeting the communication needs of patients and family, conducting basic diagnostic tests, providing patient care coordination, patient education and clerical/reception functions. Communicate with physicians, audiologists and other team members about patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic tests and symptomatology. As a member of the health care team, the Medical Assistant will help to create a culture of professional excellence and helps to maintain an environment that respects cultural, economic, ethnic and lifestyle differences of patients and staff. General supervision will be provided by the clinic or nurse manager, RN3, in concert with the Chief of Audiology. Supervision for tasks performed under a Medical Assistant's Health Care Assistant Certification will be the responsibility of the clinic medical director or designee. Physicians and nurse practitioners will provide immediate supervision of services performed by Medical Assistants under the provider's orders for specific patients.

Dialysis TechnicianSummary:The Dialysis Technician provides limited chronic or peritoneal dialysis treatment for the treatment of the ESRD patient. Qualifications:1) High School Diploma or GED.2) Current CPR certification.3) Two or more years of dialysis experience preferred.Essential Job Functions: Patient Care:1) Receive patient into treatment area. Weigh patient, take temperature and blood pressure pre and post dialysis. Document on all dialysis flow sheets.2) Perform and record patient observation: vital signs and all other parameters of ESRD patients, obtain blood samples and culture specimens, and prepares for shipment.3) Review dialysis orders, notes general physical and mental condition of patient through observations and interview, provide data to determine compliance to dietary or medical regimen. Document observations appropriately.4) Provide chronic hemodialysis therapy: recommends a dialysis plan for ultrafiltration to RN, initiate dialysis via approved accesses, observe all safety measures, monitor patient vital signs applicable to critically ill patients, administer fluid therapy or other appropriate treatments as directed, document activity appropriately.5) Collect patient data: monitor and document status of vascular accesses, reviews lab work, patient observations, and seeks guidance when levels are out of "normal" range for ESRD patients.6) Perform the following only under the direction of an RN:a. Instruct patients in the care of fistulas and other open wounds.b. Review physician orders, and reinforce treatment care with patient.7) Administer patient quality in a considerate, respectful manner.
