Position – Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist

Department: Laboratory Outreach
While assigned to the hospital laboratory, satellite lab or other facilities, perform procedures that are necessary for specimen collection on patients in all age groups (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric) including patient identification, patient preparation and verification of specimen according to laboratory procedures. Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infectious control standards so that the laboratory remains in compliance with accreditation agencies and Washington State laws governing health care assistants.
Education/Training: High school or equivalent
Experience: Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred.
License/Certification: Washington State Health Care Assistant Certification Submitted upon the successful completion of training. Part-time Varies

REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent required, some college science helpful. Excellent communication skills necessary to deal effectively with co-workers, clients, and hospital staff as well as patients possessing varying degrees of comprehension. Ability to deal effectively with all levels of laboratory staff and to communicate clearly and concisely over the telephone. Able to perform basic math functions. Previous lab experience either in student or clinical environment preferred. A willingness to work in fast paced, high volume laboratory. Data entry skills may be necessary.

Position – Lab Assistant/ Phlebotomist
We are looking for a part-time Lab Assistant to join our busy laboratory. Job duties include phlebotomy, set-up of microbiology cultures and set-up of gram stains. Qualified candidates will have completed an accredited training program for phlebotomy, and have one + years of experience. Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s License and a good driving record. This is a part-time, 48 hours per pay period days, every other weekend position.
